I haven't posted on my blog in quite a while and thought I would try something a bit different. My boys had a snow day today from school and I wanted to make them cookies. I decided to make monster cookies, you know the cookies that could sustain you if you were out in the wilderness and needed to survive. lol I made a basic oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe I got off the back of the oatmeal container, added extra goodies I had on hand from the pantry and they turned out delicious!! I wanted to share the recipe with others to enjoy!!

Follow the recipe below, decrease the oatmeal a little bit (not quite level cupfuls) so there is room for all the added ingredients, which includes but not limited to (you can add your own favorites or what you have on hand); a 12 oz. bag of mini semi sweet chocolate chips, 1 cup chopped walnuts, a large handful of dried cherries, raisins or dried fruit of your choice (I used cherries) and a small 4 oz. bag of chocolate covered peanuts. (my husband caught wind of cookie making and brought those home so we added them too! lol) Add to cookie dough.
