Omars which are short for Omarolluk are fine-grained sedimentary rocks made up of sands derived from basaltic rocks. Special Sacred stones that have naturally occurring holes in them are also available in a wide variety of eroded irregular concretion "fairy" formations. Made by the sculpting powers of wind and water create the opening, shape in a stone over a great amount of time and it is believed to carry the wisdom of the ages, having both healing and magical properties. Used as windows or doorways to see into the spiritual, fairy realms. These stones are considered powerful protection stones that can be worn for personal protection and hung at doorways or windows to protect the home from negative vibrations. These stones were Only formed in the Belcher Islands of southeast Hudson Bay. They were carried southwest into central Canada by glaciers and then down into the Midwest where they are commonly found in glacial gravels here in Nebraska/ Iowa. What a journey they have made!! They are similar to Hag/ Holey stones found elsewhere, the only difference they are not formed locally where they are found.
